Welcome to Wet Fotography, located in Orange County we blend the nostalgia of 19th century craftmanship with modern day creativity to produce captivating wet plate collodion tintype portraits. Each session is a journey back in time, where you will be immortalized on metal plates, creating heirloom-quality keep sakes to cherish for generations

At Wet Photography, we offer tintype portraits as well as ambrotypes (positives on glass) at either our main studio in Fountain Valley or at an event location of your choice. At our Studio in fountain valley we have a makeup artist, available on sight and a ever growing selection of handmade and themed backgrounds to choose from. I’m also available for events such as weddings, birthdays, corporate, private residences and anything else you can think of. If you have an idea for a theme or background you want for your event don’t hesitate to ask.

What is a tintype?

In simplest terms it is a direct positive image made on a specially prepared metal plate. Being a direct positive means each plate is a one-of-a-kind photo with a hand touched feel.

I specialize in the wet plate collodion process, invented in 1851 by Frederick Scott Archer. The process of wet plate collodion is Part Science and part art. It starts with pouring salted collodion onto a plate, then dunking it into an ionized silver bath. Once out of the bath the plate is loaded into the camera then finally developed, fixed, rinsed and varnished to create an image that will last for generations.
